Mr de la Hoyde, the Year 8 Pupil and Achievement leader, decided to support the Year 8 Lenton charity focus this term by bravely shaving his curly locks for charity!
Mr de la Hoyde invited the barber from Zak’s in Reddish to give him a radical makeover and we were not disappointed with the end results. The whole of Year 8 made a donation to watch the riveting event and Mr de la Hoyde raised a staggering £450 for the Cancer Research.
Mr de la Hoyde commented that he wanted to ‘raise awareness of the deadly disease and to highlight that people suffering with this illness face many daily challenges.’ He certainly did highlight the plight of the millions of people that suffer from cancer and his selfless act raised a tremendous amount of money for a good cause.
In fact, one Year 8 student stated that Mr de la Hoyde looked a great deal younger with his new look.
Well done to all the Year 8s and especially to Mr de la Hoyde for having his hair shorn for charity.
